It’s not very often that you come across an album that you can’t get enough of, but Swept Away is one of those albums.

Neil aka KarmaPolice has done a superb job producing an album that surely everyone should have in their CD collection, Neil has given us tracks that take the listener that bit further into listening euphoria.

With the opening track “Intro” which is a drifting effect of nature wonderful sound of wind, we are faultlessly taken into the superb “Swept Away”, with flowing synths and a calming ambient beat, “Swept Away” is an amazing track from start to end.

“Huge Universe” throws you with a semi-reversed beat that changes into a fantastic track that can only be heard to be described, truly amazing.

Track 4 is the outstanding “Angels Breathe” this track has a wonderful piece of piano work with a relaxing beat that is joined by the wonderful vocal talents of LisaT, a true collaboration of two artist that should be signed up by a major record company (are you reading this Sony, Warner etc).

“Joi” has an Indian feel to it, with it’s sitar sounding instrument and tables (I think that’s what their called), “Joi” develops as it goes along with keyboards flowing along with a pure relaxing feel, with Neil superb piano work kicking in to give the track that KarmaPolice sound.

Now I must admit that “Another Fine Mess” is possibly one of my favourites on the CD, piano work to die for, with a wonderful soft synths running throughout, giving the listener a feel a pure ambience, Neil’s use of soft percussion allows the track to be relaxing, yet it keeps you on your toes for more.

“Angelix” is another one of those tracks that you can’t get enough of, it starts with a wonderful sound effect that I can’t really describe, but this effect is taken along the track as a backing effect, with the percussion not to over powering and low and behold, some great sounding synths join the entourage with an amazing stuttered snare, WOW.

“Moon March” starts with what I can only describe as a ping from a submarine with synths to give a truly ambient feel, it reminds me a bit of one of the parts of “Oxygen” by Jean-Michel Jarre, after while a soft bass line is added with percussion, only to be followed by a relaxing synth. The break develops into a choir sound that is a fantastic way of breaking the track down to start up again with percussion and synths.

It’s raining, no it’s not it’s “Get Well Soon” Neil has put his piano over FX of rain, could it be done to sound right, with Neil the answer has to be YES. The Rain fades and we are left with a track that again Neil has produced with flare and style, the keyboards are outstanding, this track is a true masterpiece.

“X-Winter” is just short of 8 minutes long, but it doesn’t seem any longer that 3 or even 4 minutes, wonderful soft flowing synths open this track out to a soft ambient bass line, followed by that ambient KarmaPolice percussion.

Overall “Swept Away” is an outstanding album and in my point of view is up there with the greats such as Orbital, Sven Vath.

If you’ve not got this album then you are missing out on probably one of the best albums released so far, it’s a shame that a major company doesn’t snap Neil up, with the likes of Orbital splitting, there is a gap in the market for pure talent and Neil could easily fill that gap.
