How To Grab Our Albums For A Steal!
by Karen W. on Nov.07, 2010, under News
We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thanks to everyone that has been supporting our crazy mad £1 giveaway, if you’ve not heard about this yet then let is tell you all about it.
In an earlier post on the blog we mentioned how a ex-music boss had said that £1 downloads were the way to go, so, we bit the bullet and have had our album releases on BandCamp all going for £1 each and it’s been interesting.
It’s quite amazing the difference it makes by reducing the cost of your releases, though people would still prefer them for free!
But isn’t a £1 a bargain?
Anyhow for those that haven’t got any of our downloads from BandCamp yet, get on over there before Friday as that is the cut of day and all the albums will be returning back to their original prices.
So again thanks to our many fans that have been taking this opportunity to get their hands of releases they haven’t already got, you guys and gals rock!

Former Industry Music Boss Believes £1 Albums Are The Future!

Even if you’re not in the music business, then you will have heard the news that the Ex-Warner music head, Rob Dickins, believes that selling albums downloads for £1 would reduce piracy and give the music sales the much needed boost that they need.
But will it work and what does it mean to artists around the world, earning a living from their music.
Ok this isn’t for CDs they will keep their prices, this £1 price tag if for music downloads, giving people more of an opportunity to discover new artists and rather than paying £7.99 for a an album download, people will only have to pay £1.
Sounds a bargain to us and for artists that are not signed to the massive labels this will give them, like ourselves, more of a chance to get their music heard by more people, I personally would buy many more albums that I already do, if they were only a £1.
Imaging you could get 5 albums for £1, now that sounds a real bargain to me!
But this whole argument has a 50/50 spilt at the moment, yes it may be good to get an artist out to new listeners, but, it also has it’s downsides in that some people no matter if an album is available for £1 will still copy it or download it for free because they are just cheapskates!
So, as an experiment, we are biting the bullet and following the idea brought up by Rob Dickens and for a limited time we are setting the price of all our albums, that are available on BandCamp for the price of a £1. So lets see how it goes shall we

Remergence to Donate Album Sales to Children in Need 2010
by Karen W. on Oct.08, 2010, under News
On November 19th it will be time for Children in Need to take over the BBC and start it’s fund raising show, but fund raising for Children in Need for us starts right now!
We have decided that from now until the Children in Need show airs on BBC1 on the 19th November we will donate our sales of our albums that are available on BandCamp to Children in Need.
Hopefully from now until then we can raise some funds to send to the show and help out some of the Children not only in the UK but the rest of the world, every little helps.
Last year Children in Need raised £39 million, so hopefully last years total can be beaten and with sales of albums we do hope that we can give something to the charity as well.
So now the time to get to fundraising, stop by our BandCamp Store and lets start raising funds for Children in Need.
